Intellicom has been selected by Merrion Vaults to deliver a fully interconnected telephony and networking solution for its latest safe deposit facility in Liverpool. The state of the art, purpose-built vault is located in the famous Royal Liver building in the Waterfront district. Liverpool is the forth vault opened by Merrion Vaults with facilities also available in Dublin, Newcastle and Glasgow and ambitious plans to open in a number of other cities.

Merrion Vaults opened its first facility in Dublin in 2013 providing safe deposit box services to businesses and individuals to store valued items. Seamus Fahy, co-founder of Merrion Vaults commenting on the origins and opportunity for the business said, “Banks traditionally provided safe deposit boxes but, as branches have closed, it is a service they no longer deliver and it is a trend we see reflected in many countries. From house deeds to family heirlooms or, increasingly, flash drives and crypto currency codes, the need for secure storage remains and we are building out the business as local communities demand, with Liverpool being our most recent addition.”

Intellicom’s solution for Merrion Vaults in Liverpool mirrors similar services already delivered to the other group sites and includes the design and deployment of a scalable network for voice and data connectivity and the enterprise class Cloud based telephony solution which is fully interconnected with all Merrion Vaults’ other facilities.

“We have created a total communications package that is delivered seamlessly across all countries Merrion Vaults operate in, said Neil Wisdom, managing director of Intellicom. “The total communications solution has been designed with functionality and security front of mind and with the ability to quickly deploy another office location, almost out of the box, to facilitate their ambitious growth plans.”

As a managed service, Intellicom has also deployed the LANs and WiFi services for Merrion Vaults and provides monitoring of the broadband network, identifying and resolving any issues that may arise, in many cases before they have impacted the service experience by team members at Merrion Vaults.

In advance of the official opening, apre-sale process had been enabled where Intellicom allocated a local Liverpool phone number to the Merrion Vaults facility for marketing purposes. All calls to this number, prior to opening, were automatically routed to another facility with incoming calls flagged so they can be answered with an appropriate local greeting.

Fahy highlights this as a key element of the opening of the new facility; “Before we had the doors open at the new Liverpool vaults, we had been building up local interest and business. Local numbers that are routed to our existing offices and can be answered appropriately are a key element in delivering this and, once the facility was fully operational, calls are re-routed to the team in Liverpool.Expansion is a large part of our business plan over the next number of years and working with Intellicom makes this aspect very straightforward so we can focus on other areas of the expansion plan.”
